I just discovered your blog and I love it! It's so hard to find actual, human-authored, preference-based (not paid) travel writing. Bravo and thank you! And I can't wait for more! (and I'm singing your praises to all my hispanist pals and traveling friends)
Enjoying your newsletter Amy. I have spent many years in the Malaga area and have seen so many changes in Malaga City itself. I think it has really blossomed into a great place to explore, so much to see and plenty of amazing tapas bars, especially around the Old Quarter close to the Cathedral. Keep up the good work!
Loved the interview about the excavations, Amy. It's great to see they're learning more about them in Spain. Like Carolina said, the Romans wrote the history and virtually wiped the Phoenicians' influence off the map. Looking forward to reading more of your letters. :)
So pleased you enjoyed it 😊 yes, Phoenician history is well overdue a revisionist moment! I just read Carolina’s book, Phoenicians and the Making of the Mediterranean, and it’s excellent
Brilliant! This is the first of your letters I’ve read and in love already.
Ohh thank you so much! That’s very kind
